Why Give?

The McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health maintains the commitment of Mr. J.R. (Bud) McCaig to finding the underlying basis for the development of chronic joint conditions such as, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and related diseases. With the knowledge gained, the McCaig Institute strives to find treatments for these Albertans, and to prevent the development of these conditions in future generations; while also providing a model of patient care for others to emulate.

The Institute brings together experts with specialized knowledge and advanced skills to address the myriad of bone and joint health issues that can affect us all, including arthritis, back pain, spinal disorders osteoporosis and related conditions and injury. The consortium of investigators includes basic scientists, orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, kinesiologists and biomedical engineers who bring diverse technologies and perspectives to bear on these complex chronic conditions.

The McCaig Institute draws on the financial support of many partners, and thanks to your donation, we are creating new hope not only for Albertans, but for people worldwide. We invite you to consider how you can help effect real change for bone and joint health.

Where do I send my gift?

Through the collaboration with Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary, you are able to send your gift to either the Calgary Health Trust or the University of Calgary. Details are below:

We encourage donors to designate “McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health” in the memo line of the cheque. Be sure to also include your return address to ensure the receipt is made out accurately and returned to you in a timely fashion.

If you wish your donation to go to a specific area, it is suggested you write a letter stating which of the areas or priorities of Bone and Joint Health you choose to support.
