Principal Investigator, Rheumatologist

Gene function in the intact organism: Our work is centered largely on the generation and use of transgenic and mutant mice. These are used not only as a way to learn about gene function and gene-gene interactions, but also in the development of various models of human disease. The technologies we employ are those of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, histopathology, imaging (micro-computed tomography and bioluminescence), and mouse embryonic stem cell genetic manipulation.
