Jingle Bell Run ~ McCaig Team

This was the first year that the McCaig Institute entered a corporate team for the Jingle Bell Walk & Run for Arthritis. We had 25 participants who completed either the 1km walk, 5km run, or 10km run. Clinicians, residents, trainees, support staff and spouses composed this year’s team, including several members of the McCaig family. Although the team was originally formed to bring McCaig Institute members of varying backgrounds together, we raised $1,625.00 for the Arthritis Society and were the fourth-highest ranking corporate team in Calgary. Thank you to those who made donations, especially to Institute Director Dr. Nigel Shrive and Dr. Cy Frank. Also, thanks to all of the team members for participating in the event and making our team a success. Look for an even larger McCaig Institute contingent in coming years!
McCaig’s Great Pumpkins!
The first Annual McCaig Pumpkin Carving Contest was held on Wednesday Oct. 28th, 2009.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest on Oct. 28th, 2009. It was a great success with a total of 9 teams and two very entertaining judges - Drs. Schachar and Jirik!
The competition was stiff, but the carving criterion was creative and a good time was had by all. A special thank you to Dr. Lo for providing the gift certificates as prizes and congratulations to our top three teams: Jill Beveridge, Judy Crawford and Kyla Huebner (first prize), Tanja Harrison (second prize), Jennifer Hahn, Charlene Downey and Arvind Singla (third prize) and honourable mention went to Yamini Achari, Leona Barclay and Craig Sutherland.
